Lot 55. W554 complete set of 18. Unusually large 5 x 7 set of cards from an unknown maker. A set of Sepia pictures of the stars of 1930. All cards in this set have name, position and team pre printed below which is the more common and desired variation. Cards are also known without captions at the bottom. The set is complete including the rare Waite Hoyt card, which the price guides do not recognize as being rare. Hoyt is the only horizontal card in the group. Interestingly the Ruth card is the best condition card in the group. Highlights: Ruth (nearly ex-mt. Tiny corner wrinkle upper right corner margin), Gehrig (vg front, some paste stains, a signature and minor paper loss on rear), Hoyt (vg-ex), Foxx (vg-ex). . Balance: Cards almost all have a very good to excellent appearance, with no creases. A couple have minor pieces of paper on the rear and one has an ink signature
