Advertising, Display and Miscellaneous

  3 Lots

Lot 126.  1920’s Sporting Life Advertising Poster. Orange, Black and White Advertising sheet portrays Judge Landis imploring the major and minor leagues to get together. The back is directed to the Trapshooting Association of America and details the benefits of the Sporting Life. Has been folded, probably as issued, and has two reinforced small tears (not apparent) at the folds of the top.
Minimum Bid $200.

Lot 127.  Rare “Rain Check” Tobacco Label. Famous graphic label shows two ticket stubs on a ballpark background with crossed bats and a ball below. Label measures 6 1/2” 8 1/2”. The rain check stubs are from the White Sox Park and Charles Comiskey’s signature can be seen at the bottom of the stubs and it is interesting to note there is a war tax of 10 cents on the stubs. The back has the date noted “1/7/20” along with a small piece of tape in each corner of the otherwise clean back. The front is ex+-mt.
Minimum Bid $750.

Lot 128.  circa 1930’s Very rare Flip Movie of Wrigley Field. Only one I’ve ever seen. It measures 2 1/2” x 2 1/4” and the cover shows the famous front of the ballpark. Inside a thumb movie reveals a batter hitting the ball and running to first base. Have not been able to determine who the hitter is. The bottom of the cover indicates a copyright from Animated Photo Publishers, Chicago, ILL. Excellent condition.
Winning Bid $220.
