Lot 216. 1949 Exhibit Co. Set of 32 Champions in blue tint. Far more difficult than the preceding 1948 set. There were 14 new “athletes issued, including a horse and a boat, and two pose changes.  These 14 cards are the most difficult cards to find over the two year issue and include 2 new basketball (Phillip and Fulks), 3 new football (Waterfield, Motley and Dobbs), one new Hockey (Roy Conacher) and one golf (Ben Hogan), which is one of the more desirable golf cards among collectors. As nice a set as you’re likely to see.
