Frank Loria.
Lot 286. Frank Loria. Frank Loria was a two time All-American Safety at Virginia Tech in 1966 and 1967. He tried to play Professional Football in Canada, failed and came back to coach at Marshall University. He died at the age of 23 in a famous place crash that was immortalized in the movie “We are Marshall”. Unlike Calvin Jones and Ernie Davis who died at a similar age, Loria was a relatively obscure player and his autograph is very rare, possibly among the rarest in the HOF. He was elected to the Collegiate HOF in 1999.
