1918 California Stanford Game, the “game that never was”.

Lot 252. 1918 California Stanford Game, the “game that never was”. Our consignor, a well known collector, and long time UC Berkeley collector indicates this is the only one he has ever seen. The game was called “the game that didn’t exist”. The contest, which California won 67-0 never went in the records as an official Cal-Stanford contest. The teams hadn’t played football for 13 years. The attractive 32 page program is shaped like a football and is in excellent condition. A two page magazine account of the game and the events surrounding it is included.
