Lot 259. A comprehensive offering of 79 cards from the 1948-1953 Exhibit Football series. The generally accepted set of 59 is present missing only the Nate Johnson and Herman Wedemeyer cards. This includes 30 of the 32 cards originally issued in 1948-9 (missing Wedemeyer & Johnson), the 11 new additions in 1950 and the 16 new additions in 1952 for a total of 57 cards. Also included is 22 of the 32 1952-53 “reprint” set in brown tint. A total of 79 cards. Highlights: Bednarik (vg), Cifers (nr mt), Comp (nr mt), Coulter (ex), Davis (vg), Horvath (nr mt), Jacobs (good), Leforce (vg), Mastangelo (nr mt), Pritko (nr mt), Schlinkman (gd-vg), Tittle (nr mt). Balance: The great majority of the remaining cards are near mint. A detailed listing of the cards by year in available on request.
