Lot 438.  Group of 9 P2 Sweet Caporal Pins including 5 Hall of Famers and 2 better ones. Include Bresnahan LL (nr mt), Chief Bender (ex-mt), Collins (excellent), Chance (vg), Clarke (ex), Chase LL (ex+-mt), Cicotte (ex), rare Grant (ex) and Doyle (nr mt). All have original paper.

Lot 439.  1910 Philadelphia Athletics Champion SGC graded rare postcard. Composite team postcard graded SGC 40 VG 3. 23 members of the A’s Champions including Mananger Connie Mack, Eddie Collins, Chief Bender, Eddie Plank and Home Run Baker. The image is the same as a very rare card discovered a few years ago, of which only two are known. (See Lot 48). He postcard is unused and the grade is based on corner wear.

Lot 440.  Rare 1937 Exhibit Company Advertising Display showing 4 4-in-1 Exhibit cards with Gehrig, DiMaggio and Weintraub. Very rare display showing 4 1937 Four-in-one paper exhibit cards on an 8” x 12” display card, neatly framed to about 11 ½” x 15 ½”. Included in the display are the Cincinnati (Lombardi, Phil Weintraub), Detroit (Cochrane, Goslin, Gehringer), New York AL (Gehrig, DiMaggio, Gomez & Lazzeri) and Philadelphia AL cards. Especially noteworthy is the Cincinnati card with Weintraub, who is a very sought after 4-in-1 because of his Jewish heritage and often brings prices similar to Ruth, DiMaggio and Gehrig. The display is composed of 4 paper “cards” before they were put on exhibit board and then trimmed to fit the display resulting in some side borders being trimmed. This was prevalent in all Exhibit Company advertising pieces such as this. Some corner wear and minor imperfections.

Lot 441.  Group of 5 World Series programs from 1933, 1941, 1944, 1953 and 1964. The 1933 program which is scored, is from the 2nd game at the Polo Grounds between Washington and New York and is lightly scored in pencil and is otherwise in ex-mt condition, the 1941 famous Yankees-Dodgers missed 3rd strike series at Brooklyn is unscored and excellent, the 1944 St. Louis series is unscored and vg-ex, the 1953 Yankees-Dodgers program, unscored with a very light vertical fold and the 1964 Cardinals-Yankees is from the 3rd game which featured a walk off Home Run by Mantle (ex+).

Lot 442.  Near set of 78 1952 Topps Blackbacks and a group of 13 miscellaneous cards and postcards. An average very good excellent near subset of the first 80 cards (missing 3) with the black back variations. The missing cards are 20-Loes and 48-49 Page & Sain. Highlights: 1-Pafko (gd-vg), 11-Rizzuto (vg-ex), 33-Spahn (good), 36-Hodges (very good), 37-Snider (near excellent), 59-Roberts (good), 80-Wehmeir (good). Balance: 7 cards ex-mt, 18 cards excellent, 36 cards very good, 12 cards good-very good; The additional cards include 4 1961 Fleers including a 152-Williams (ex), 2 Pepsi Colt .45’s (ex), 1962 & 1963 Stat Exhibits of Eddie Mathews (ex), 2 McCarthy PC’s, a 1951 Govt PC of Red Sox Billy Goodman and circa RPPC’s of St. Louis Brown Dick Kryhoski and Indians Al Rosen (ex).

Lot 443.  Two T205 Gold Borders SGC graded Hall of Famers of Frank Chance and Clark Griffith. The Chance is graded SGC 60 EX 5 and has a Hassan back. The Griffith is an SGC 70 EX+ 5.5 and has a black Sweet Caporal back.

Lot 444.  Three T206 White Bordered SGC graded Hall of Famers of Fred Clarke (both poses) and Jennings. The Jennings (one hand showing pose) is an SGC 80 EX/NM 6 with a Sweet Cap 350/25 back). The Clarke portrait is and SGC 60 EX 5 with a Sweet Cap 350/30 back) and the Clarke batting pose is an SGC 70 EX+ 5.5 with a Piedmont 150/25 back.

Lot 445.  Five E90-1 American Caramel graded cards by SGC (3) and PSA (2). The 3 SGC graded cards are Tinker (SGC 40 VG 3), Wallace (SGC 50 VG/EX 4) and Stone (SGC 50 VG/EX 4). The 2 PSA’s are Chase (PSA VG-EX 4) and Engle (PSA VG-EX 4).

Lot 446.  Four graded cards from thr Dead Ball Era – an E101 Shean, an E102 Knabe and E121 Maranville and a WG4 Polo Grounds card of Joe Wood. The Wood is an SGC 96 Mint 9, the Maranville is the series of 80 and is an SGC 80 EX/NM 6, the E101 is an SGC 50 VG/EX 4 and the E102 Knabe is a PSA VG-EX 4.

Lot 447.  R319 Goudey #220 Lefty Grove SGC 80 EX/NM 6. Nearly perfect card which has been down graded for centering.

Lot 448.  Four High grade R323 Goudey Heads Up, all SGC graded, including Bobby Doerr. The group includes 252-Bonura (SGC 86 NM+ 7.5), 255-Solters (SGC 84 NM 7), 258-Doerr (SGC 84 NM 7), 263-Owens (SGC 80 EX/NM 6).

Lot 450.  3 Ogdens Guinea Gold cards from the numbered series, all PSA graded. The group includes two #475 J.H. Taylor showing distinct variations in the script of Ogden’s Guinea Gold Cigarettes. One is PSA NM 7 and the other is PSA is PSA EX 5. The third card is #478-H.H. Hilton, graded EX-MT 6 (MK).

Lot 451.  2 1927 Churchman Famous Golfers of Bobby Jones, both PSA graded. The first Jones is from the rare large set of 12 and the #7 Jones is graded PSA EX 5 and the #27 from the 50 card small series is graded PSA EX-MT 6.

Lot 452.  2 PSA Very high grade Bobby Jones cards, both graded PSA NM 7. The first card is from the 1930 J.A. Pattreiouex series of Celebrities in Sport, and the second is from the Major Drapkin Sporting Celebrities.
