Lot 440. Rare 1937 Exhibit Company Advertising Display showing 4 4-in-1 Exhibit cards with Gehrig, DiMaggio and Weintraub. Very rare display showing 4 1937 Four-in-one paper exhibit cards on an 8” x 12” display card, neatly framed to about 11 ½” x 15 ½”. Included in the display are the Cincinnati (Lombardi, Phil Weintraub), Detroit (Cochrane, Goslin, Gehringer), New York AL (Gehrig, DiMaggio, Gomez & Lazzeri) and Philadelphia AL cards. Especially noteworthy is the Cincinnati card with Weintraub, who is a very sought after 4-in-1 because of his Jewish heritage and often brings prices similar to Ruth, DiMaggio and Gehrig. The display is composed of 4 paper “cards” before they were put on exhibit board and then trimmed to fit the display resulting in some side borders being trimmed. This was prevalent in all Exhibit Company advertising pieces such as this. Some corner wear and minor imperfections.
