F273-27 1937 Kelloggs Pep near set of 77 stamps (of 90) in the album from the Creator’s archive.

Lot 377. F273-27 1937 Kelloggs Pep near set of 77 stamps (of 90) in the album from the Creator’s archive. The album comes from the archives of Gordon Gold, generally the largest creator of children’s premiums in the U.S. Originally sold by Hakes Americana. Included is a Letter of Origin signed by Gordon Hill to Hakes. The Album, which measures 14 1/2” x 10”, is occasionally seen, but not like this. Usually the Spinner on the inside cover (on the back of the circular baseball panel on the cover) is gone, and almost always the detachable strip on the bottom of the front cover is gone, which contained pieces for a game that could be played. The stamps are glued in their appropriate spots in the album, and include 16 of the 18 baseball (including Walter Johnson and missing only Fonseca and Tinker), 17 of the 18 football (including Grange, Nagurski, Thorpe, etc and missing only Bill Cunningham), 10 of the 12 golfers, 11 of the 12 boxers, 5 of the 6 swimmers, 5 of the 6 tennis players and 15 of the 18 Race Horses, Race Drivers and Aviators. The album has some tape remains on the inside back cover and otherwise excellent + with the stamps being excellent to ex-mt.
