Lot 209. Circa 1906 Very rare Lawrence Semon post card of Rube Marquard. Very rare! A series of well done artistic drawings of ball players by a well known New York State artist named Lawrence Semon. The drawings are known as a series of New York Giant Newspaper supplements and a series of post cards. The black and white post cards can be found with or without the notation in red print “Sketched from Life By Lawrence Semon Cartoonist of The Evening Sun”. Not enough cards are known to determine if the cards with or without the red notation are scarcer. They are more attractive. The card of Marquard, the New York Giant Hall of Fame pitcher, is unused and there is a 3/4” crease in the lower right corner. There is a small piece of tape remaining at the upper left. The back is blank except for “1915” being written in ink above Post Card at the top.
