Lot 62. 1952 Royal Pudding set of 24 with 14 variations. The Standard Catalog lists 24 different cards and a total of 26 variations of the cards. 8 cards are known only one way. Offered here is a world Class set including variations of Musial, Reese, Dom DiMaggio, Spahn, Pafko, Seminick, Brissie, Rizzuto, Scarborough (2 different), Truck, Sain and Sisler. Condition is also quite impressive with about 60% (23 cards excellent or better in a set that is nearly always notoriously miscut). There are also xeroxes for 4 other variations. The Standard Catalogs shows no differential in price for the variations although it is obvious to anyone who collected these there are significant differences. Highlights: Musial (vg-ex), Reese (ex, fair), Kell (good), Dom DiMaggio (gd-ex, gd), Spahn (ex+-mt, nr mt), Rizzuto (nr mt, good), Appling (nr mt), N. Fernandez (gd), Fain rare blue tint (ex); Balance: 13 cards ex-mt or better, 4 cards excellent, 2 cards very good-excellent , 6 cards good.
