Lot 342. Group of 34 Feg Murray autographed cartoons from circa 1933 newspapers. Feg Murray was born in San Francisco. He was a sport cartoonist and columnist for the Los Angeles Times and did a feature called 'True Stories about Stamps' in True Comics around 1943. He is best known for his cartoon strip, 'Seein' Stars', in which he showcased several Hollywood celebrities of the time, in the style of Robert L. Ripley of "Ripley’s Believe it or not". The offered panels were obtained in person by my consignor’s father. Includes 10 Hall Of Famers including Kiki Cuyler, Frank Frisch, Burleigh Grimes, Lefty Gomez, Gabby Hartnett, Carl Hubbell (2 diff.), Rogers Hornsby (Ripley artist), Bill Terry (2). Also Irving Burns, Charlie Devens, Charlie Grimm, Bump Hadley, Harvey Hendrick, Babe Herman, Oral Hildebrand, Lynn Lary, Pat Malone, Gus Mancuso (3), Lefty O’Doul (2), Carl Reynolds (2), Blondy Ryan, Hal Schumaker, George Uhle (2), Johnny Vergez (2), Lon Warneke and Sam West, a total of 34 signed cartoons.
