1887 Set of 18 Scrapps completely graded by SGC.

Lot 9. 1887 Set of 18 Scrapps completely graded by SGC. Very rarely offered 19th Century set featuring 9 die cut cards each of the 1888 American Association Champion St. Louis Browns and N.L. Champion Detroit Tigers. The players selected are the actual starting lineups for each team. The condition of the Browns is outstanding. Not a crease to be seen and some light staining as is usual. The backs of the Browns have a piece of album page which has actually helped maintain the stability of the cards but as a result the grades by SGC are much lower that would be expected from the appearance. St. Louis Browns - Comiskey (Poor 1), Bushong (Poor 1), Caruthers (Poor 1), Foutz (Poor 1), Gleason (Poor 1), Latham (Poor 1), O’Neill ((Poor 1), Robinson (Poor 1), Welch (A); Detroit Tigers - Brouthers (GOOD 2), Dunlap (GOOD 2), (GOOD 2), Richardson (FAIR 1.5), Rowe (FAIR 1.5), Thompson (A), White (A), Bennett (A), Getzein (A).
