Lot 44.  1948-9 Leaf standard set of 49 plus the 2 rare "Hermansk" and Alberson variations and a wrapper. High grade set with 54% ex-mt or better and 90% excellent and better. Lot 45.  1948-9 Leaf group of 42 of the 49 rarities. A partial set of the very rare Leaf group featuring all the cards except the Hall of Famers. Nearly 75% average excellent or better and overall the appearance is better than that. Grade detail: 5 cards near mint, 5 cards excellent-mint, 18 cards excellent, 10 cards very good, 1 card good, 3 cards fair; A list of all the cards and their grades is available on request.

Lot 46.  1948-9 Rare Leaf #8-Satchel Paige PSA VG-EX 4. The key card to the Leaf set. Well centered and what appears to be an ex-mt card (though the back is slightly off center) has been given a lower technical grade by PSA.
Winning Bid $5,363.


Lot 47.  Group of 6 Rare Leaf Hall of Famers all graded by PSA. Includes 93-Feller (a solid excellent + card graded PSA VG-EX 4), 98-Newhouser (PSA VG 3 with some removable gum stains on back), 120-Kell (PSA NM 7), 127-Slaughter (PSA VG 3), 138-Doby has an ex+-mt appearance but has been graded PSA GOOD 2 and 163-Hutchinson (PSA VG-EX 4).

Lot 47a.  Interesting group of 6 Leaf variations. Five of the six have a normal comparison card. Highlighting the group is #14 Billy Johnson with a yellow-orange backgrounds as opposed to the normal green. The rare variation is ex-mt and both cards are ex+-mt. Second is a 46-Mize card, badly out of register. The Mize card is not accompanied by a normal card and is ex-mt. The other cards which show as being out of register with some color variation are 10-Trout (ex-mt, gd). 17-Overmire (nr mt, vg-ex), 27-Harris (nr mt, vg), 47-Vico (ex+-mt, vg-ex). The variation card is the first one graded.
