Lot 36. M-unc. 1890 Sporting Times Supplement of R.S. Allen, Philadelphia. One of the rarest types, a trimmed Supplement from the short lived weekly Sporting Times newspaper which was apparently around from the mid 1880’s to 1890. The Upper right corner of the April 13, 1890 issue shows an ad in the upper right corner noting "WITH PORTRAIT SUPPLEMENT". On the rare occasion that I’ve seen a supplement, except for one auctioned in 2006, its always been trimmed. The offered player measures 7 3/4 " x 5 1/2" instead of the issued 11" x 7". Otherwise in excellent condition.
