The following 17 lots comprise a near complete T206 set missing only 7 cards. The backs are all Piedmont or Sweet Caporal unless noted otherwise.



Lot 84.  Three of the four T206 Ty Cobb Cards all PSA graded. All three of these cards could have received a half to a full grade higher. Green background PSA VG 3 (Sweet Cap 350-40 back), Red Background PSA VG-EX 4 (Sweet Cap 35-460, Fac 42 back) and Bat on shoulder PSA VG 3 (Sweet Cap 350-30) well centered, very good;

Lot 85.  Ty Cobb bat off shoulder with Old Mill back. A near mint appearing card with a couple of interesting characteristics. First, the card is cut at an angle top and bottom and at first glance appears to be trimmed, but when matched up with other T206’s, it is not. Secondly the card has a small printing streak in the upper portion, just left of center.
Winning Bid $1,183.


Lot 86.  Complete sub-set of 48 T206 Southern Leaguers. Above average condition group includes 18 cards excellent or better, 20 cards very good or vg-ex, 4 cards good or good-very good and 6 cards in the poor to fair range. The entire set has Piedmont backs. A detailed list with grades for all 48 cards is available on request.

Lot 87.  Near complete set of 85 (missing 1) T206 Minor Leaguers. The missing minor leaguer is Cross. All cards are Piedmont or Sweet Caporal except for 2 Sovereign and one Cycle. Highlights: Beckley (vg), Collins (vg), Kelley (ex-mt) and McGinnity (vg-ex); Balance: 13 cards near mint, 20 cards ex-mt, 24 cards excellent, 8 cards vg-ex, 3 cards very good, 7 cards good, 3 cards gd-vg and 3 cards fair; A detailed list with grades for all 85 cards is available on request.

Lot 88.  Group of 7 T206 rarities. Includes G. Brown, Washington (vg-ex), Kleinow, Boston (ex-mt), Lundgren, Chi. (vg-ex), Dahlen, Brooklyn (good), Smith, Ch & Boston (ex), Cicotte (ex) and Gandil (fair).

Lot 89.  All 3 Christy Mathewson and both Walter Johnson poses. All the poses from T206 of the two greatest pitchers of their era. The Mathewson Portrait is gd-vg (small ink mark at top of back), the White Hat is ex-mt and the black hat is good. The Johnson Portrait is good and the pitching pose is off-center and has an ink number on the rear.
Winning Bid $1,463.


Lot 90.  All 6 T206 Cy Young and Nap Lajoie poses including 2 graded Lajoies. The 3 Youngs are as follows: Portrait (ex), Pitching-front, Polar bear back (vg-ex), Pitching side (good); The 3 Lajoies are as follows: Portrait (PSA VG-EX 4), Batting (PSA EX 5), fielding (good).

Lot 91.  17 T206 Hall of Fame Portraits all in excellent or better condition. Group includes Bender (vg-ex), Bresnahan (vg), Brown (gd-vg), Chance-yellow (nr mt), Chance-red (good), Chesbro (vg-ex), Griffith (vg), Huggins (ex+-mt), Joss (ex-mt), Keeler (vg), Marquard (vg), McGraw (vg-ex), Tinker (vg-ex), Waddell (vg), Wallace (vg-ex), Walsh (vg-ex), Willis (ex).

Lot 92.  15 T206 Hall of Famers, all in exellent and better condition with several near mint. Group includes Bender -no trees (nr mint), Bresnahan-batting (ex-mt), Brown-blue collar (ex), Clarke-batting (ex), Evers-blue sky (nr mt), Huggins - yelling (ex+-mt), Jennings (nr mt), Keeler - batting (ex-mt), Marquard - pitching (ex-mt), Speaker (ex), Tinker - bat on (ex+), Waddell - pitching (ex+-mt), Wheat (ex), Willis - pitching (ex+) and Willis- batting (nr mt). The Bender and Evers are short and possibly trimmed. Jennings has a tiny crease in the lower left corner.

Lot 94.  16 T206 White Borders almost all in near mint condition (A-C). Group includes Abbaticchio, Alperman, Ames, Arrelanes, Atz, Barry, Becker, Bell, Bergen, Bescher (2), Birmingham, Bridwell (2), Bowerman and Byrne. There are 3 cards from the tough 150 Series.

Lot 95.  16 T206 White Borders almost all in near mint condition (C-H). Group includes Charles, Criss, Dineen, Donlin, Donovan, Downey, Dubuc, Dunn, Durham, Dygert, Egan, Ferris, Fletcher, Frill, Hartsel & Hoffman. There are 3 cards from the tough 150 Series. The Hartsel card has a light crease.
