Lot 74. 1964 Sweet Clean laundry set of 28 Pittsburgh Pirates. Extremely rare 12” x 8” cards which were apparently used as stiffeners with Laundry. I’ve never seen a set offered and have only had a few cards in nearly 30 years. The checklist, fortunately, is provided on the cards. Included are Roberto Clemente, (this could easily be the rarest Clemente card) Willie Stargell, Bill Mazeroski, etc. The photos match up with the more common KDKA Pirate set issued four years later. It is printed on each card that a complete set could be turned in for Pirate tickets, which might partially account for the scarcity. All the cards grade excellent to mint, mostly near mint.
