Lot 224. 1885 Currier and Ives Original Print “The Champions of the Ball Raquet at the close of the Season”. A 15 ½” x 11 ½” print professionally placed in a 19” x 15” matte. The print shows a comical ethnic baseball team, apparently not in the best of health after the season. It appears to be in excellent condition, however, there are small pieces of archival tape on the rear reinforcing some small tears not apparent from the front. Notations of being Published and Copyrighted by Currier and Ives are below the print. Colorful and rare! Winning Bid $500.
