Old Judge & Dogs Head Cabinets

  3 Lots

Lot 425.  N173 Old Judge Cabinet of Hall of Famer Roger Connor. Either the rarest of the four poses of Connor in Old Judge or a new pose. Twoi of the 4 poses of Connor are batting poses. The most common pose show Connor batting with his bat at a slight angle. The other batting pose as listed in the World Tobacco Index indicates “Bat over Left shoulder, nearly touching cheek”. This pose is only known as a Cabinet. The offered card, depending on your interpretation, may be “nearly touching cheek”. If it’s not, it’s a newly discovered pose for Connor and would also be an N173 Cabinet pose without a known N172. The card has no creases and some light staining on the edges and a light stain on the rear.
Winning Bid $3,900

Lot 426.  N173 Dogs Head & Old Judge Cabinet of Hall of Famer Buck Ewing and Mascot. Extremely rare type from Old Judge’s Dogs Head brand. Very popular Old Judge pose showing Ewing with Mascot Willie Breslin. The card has top photo quality however the lower left corner has been reattached with tape on th rear. Also a small chip at the upper right and some pencil writing and a stain on the rear.
Minimum Bid $4,000
