Lot 24.  Gil Hodges 1 page als dated February 9, 1960. Hodges writes a friend on this 6 ¾ x 6 ¼” handwritten note with great baseball content just before the start of the 1960 season. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 25.  Walter Johnson 1 page tls dated April 2, 1925 on his personal letterhead with ticket & original envelope. Also included is a 1925 Opening day ticket the recipient used to see Johnson pitch shortly after the letter was received and a typed note by the recipient. Johnson beat the Yankees 10-1. The letter has a piece of tape in the upper left and lower left corners not affecting anything. Johnson died in 1946. Excellent (with note to the tape) condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 26.  W.J. Klem pencil signature with 2 others umpires on 1933 Who’s Who in baseball page. All signatures are in pencil and in addition John E Reardon and George Barr signed. Klem died in 1951. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 27.  Larry Lajoie 1 cent government post card with stamp added. 1952 postmark hand addressed by Lajoie and dated “2-8-52” by him. Lajoie died in 1959. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 28.  Tony Lazzeri 2x4 fountain pen cut mounted to card. Lazzeri died very young in 1946 at the age of 42. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 29.  Roger Maris signed unlined 3 x 5. The card is signed in blue ballpoint. Maris died in 1985. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 30.  Mel Ott signs a government post card with small photo attached. Mailed in 1953. Newspaper photo attached shows Ott and Lefty O’Doul. Ott died just a few years later in 1958. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 31.  Satchel Paige on a 3 ½ x 5 ½” b&w glossy St. Louis Browns team issued postcard with a 1953 postmark. Signed “Satchel Paige on the front and Paige added a short note on the rear. Paige died in 1982. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 32.  Herb Pennock on a 1 page tls dated May 24, 1944 on a Philadelphia Phillies letterhead. Answering an autograph request, Pennock signed while he was GM of the Phils. He died just 4 years later in 1948. Excellent condition with JSA LOA.

Lot 33.  Cumberland Posey 8x10 Homestead High School document from May 22, 1941. First as a player and then later as manager and team owner, Cumberland Cum Posey was for 35 years, the driving force behind the Homestead Grays, one of the most successful teams in Negro league history. Posey died in 1946, long before the onset of collecting interest in the Negro Leagues and his autograph remains exceedingly rare. Excellent condition with PSA LOA.

Lot 34.  Branch Rickey 1 page player assignment agreement from 1950. Rickey, still President of the Brooklyn Dodgers, signed the assignment of Clarence Hicks from Brooklyn to Hollywood. Fred Haney signed the assignment for Hollywood. Rickey died in 1965. Excellent condition with PSA LOA.

Lot 35.  Jackie Robinson framed display. A beautifully matted 13” x 19” frame shows an 8” x 10” photo of Robinson above his cancelled check. The cancellation is well away from the signature. A very nice COA is attached to the back of the frame signed by Rachel Robinson on her letterhead.

Lot 36.  Al Simmons signature on page from Speed Johnson’s large 1933 Who’s Who. Simmon’s signature is neatly written over his career stats to the right of his photo. He died in 1956. Excellent condition with PSA LOA.

Lot 37.  Tris Speaker black and white Cleveland Indian team issued post card. Postmarked in 1951. Speaker died in 1958. Excellent condition with PSA LOA.

Lot 38.  Joe Tinker 1 page tls from 1948 on real estate letterhead. Nice letter includes a reference to Honus Wagner. “He is a great old boy and the finest ball player of them all”. Tinker died just six months after he wrote this letter. Excellent condition with PSA LOA.
