Lot 39.  1889 Bachrach Studio Cabinet of Bart Cantz. Cantz had a brief major league career with the Baltimore Orioles in 1888-9 and the Athletics in 1890. He's acquired some notoriety among collectors as being in the N172 set with the St. Louis Whites of the Western Association as well as the Orioles. Later he was with the Orioles of the Eastern League in the early 1900's. The standard cabinet is in excellent condition but shows some soiling. Some identifying pencil writing on the rear.
Winning Bid $303.

Lot 40.  Oversized Graded Cabinet of the 1890 Brooklyn Dodgers in Spring Training at St, Augustine, Florida. Graded by GAI, the 9 1/4" x 6 1/2" black bordered cabinet shows the suit and tie dressed team at the old Spanish Fort in St. Augustine. Dodger pitcher Dave Foutz, can be clearly identified, second from the right. It has been graded VG 3 by GAI.
Minimum Bid $1,000.

Lot 41.  Stunning Sporting Times Scorecard. Circa late 1880's scorecard from an obscure publication called the Sporting Times, which was in circulation, I believe, from 1888 to 1890. Measuring 4 7/8" x 7 1/8, the 4 page scorecard appears to be an advertising promotion for the newspaper, which advertised itself as the "Leading Base Ball Paper of the Century". The striking covers carries portraits of 7 players, 6 of which are HOF'ers.- Cap Anson, Mike Kelly, John Ward, John Clarkson, Charles Comiskey, and Buck Ewing. Jack Glasscock is the 7th player who easily has the credentials for the HOF. The back cover carries a color ad for Spalding baseballs and the scorecard portion inside carries either a minor league game or an amateur game. Some nearly undetectable restoration has been done to a separation on the spine. Excellent appearance and another one is not known.
Winning Bid $1,665.

Lot 42.  1891 Joseph Hall New York Giant Cabinet card. Composite photo of the Giants features five Hall of Famers (Tim Keefe, Amos Rusie, Buck Ewing, Roger Connor and James O'Rourke), two near Hall of Famers (Jack Glasscock and George Gore) and their famous Manager James Mutrie. The card has a clear photo, although there are several light creases and a triangular piece out from the corner.
Winning Bid $1,771.

Lot 43.  H804-4 Capadura set of 5. Pencil mark on 1, backs have some minor stains, otherwise excellent.
Minimum Bid $250.
